Where to go when you are in labor
- Between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. enter through the West Entrance.
- Take the West elevators to the fifth floor and register at the Reception/Registration area on 5 West.
- After registering, we’ll escort you to the Antenatal Testing and Evaluation Center (AETU) for evaluation.
- Between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. enter through the Emergency Department.
- The Admitting Coordinator will register and take you to the Antenatal Testing and Evaluation Center (AETU) for evaluation.

Masking policy 1.2.2024
As of January 2, 2024, we have reached a high level of respiratory virus activity. You will see the following changes at Mass General Brigham:
- Your care team and other staff will wear a facility-issued face mask during direct interactions with patients in patient rooms and other clinical care areas where direct care is provided.
- Patients and visitors will be strongly encouraged to wear a facility-issued face mask during direct interactions with staff in patient rooms and clinical care areas where direct care is provided.
- Patients and visitors do not have to mask if they prefer not to.
- Masking is not required in lobbies and other common areas.
Patient Code of Conduct
Everyone should expect a safe, caring, and inclusive environment in all our spaces. Our Patient Code of Conduct helps us to meet this goal. Words or actions that are disrespectful, racist, discriminatory, hostile, or harassing are not welcome.
Privacy and HIPAA
Notice for Use and Sharing of Protected Health Information
The federal Office of Civil Rights implemented the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act(HIPAA) to promote privacy and trust between patients and their health care providers. As part of these rules, all new patients seeing their health care provider upon their initial visit are required to sign an acknowledgement form to indicate that they have received the Privacy Notice. The Privacy Notice describes how the hospital/provider uses and shares your personal health information.

Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) Housing Voucher
VASH provides a Section 8 voucher exclusively for eligible veterans and their families linked with case management services. Learn more about the VASH program from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. To access VASH eligibility requirements, enter “VASH” in the website search query box.
Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)
Case management services and time-limited cash assistance are available to prevent homelessness or rapidly re-house homeless veterans and their families. You can find a list of community-based SSVF providers serving Massachusetts at Mass Vets Advisor.
Chapter 115 Benefits
Eligible veterans and their families can access state-subsidized benefits that include cash assistance and referrals. Massachusetts Veterans Service Officers Association Inc. can assist you with information about these benefits and your eligibility.
Veterans Administration (VA)
The VA provides a comprehensive array of services and benefits to veterans. Vet Advisor or the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs can assist you with understanding eligibility requirements. Benefits for eligible veterans include:

Statewide Advocacy for Veterans’ Empowerment (SAVE)
The Department of Veterans’ Services, in collaboration with the Department of Public Health, has a Statewide Advocacy for Veterans’ Empowerment (SAVE) program that assists veterans in need of referral services and seeks to prevent suicide and advocate on behalf of Massachusetts’ veterans. SAVE acts as a liaison between veterans, their families, and the various agencies within the federal and state governments. The SAVE team is staffed by veterans and family members of veterans. The SAVE team meets with veterans and their families out in the community, bringing the resources directly to the veteran.
Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) Family Veteran Program
For families of individuals currently in military service or those recently discharged from service, the MSPCC has a veteran family resource program called Support for Military Families located around the state that can offer intervention, referral, counseling, and supportive services to families of these individuals regardless of discharge status.

The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office provides resources to help veterans and service members with consumer and legal issues, including:
