Hematology and Medical Oncology Division
Located in the western suburbs of Greater Boston, hematology and medical oncology specialists at Mass General Cancer Center at Newton-Wellesley provide expert inpatient and outpatient care for patients with cancers and diseases of the blood. Our expert oncologists and hematologists work as a team to determine the best treatments for patients and help manage their ongoing care.
We offer cancer patients advanced, innovative services and treatment options, including:
- Radiation oncology services and expertise by our radiation experts
- Inpatient care dedicated to hematology and oncology patients and staffed by ONS-certified oncology nurses
- Our Infusion Center, which offers complex chemotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusions, and plasmapheresis services
- Our Anticoagulation Clinic, which manages warfarin dosing for more than 800 patients in the community
- The Auerbach Breast Center, which provides care for patients with breast diseases
In addition to cancer treatment, the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology provides integrated support services such as genetic risk assessments and counseling and emotional support during and after your treatment.
Our cancer care program oversees Newton-Wellesley’s tumor registry program and is certified by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
Clinical Trials and Expertise
Patients have access to a wide variety of clinical trials, as our staff is committed to offering patients the latest and most innovative treatment options.
We develop and participate in medical conferences for breast, thoracic, genitourinary, head and neck, gynecological oncology, malignant hematology, and gastrointestinal cancers. These meetings bring together a large group of expert specialists to collaborate on specific cases of diseases to ensure comprehensive, evidence-based, individualized care. It also provides an educational forum for doctors, residents, and medical students.
