Otolaryngology

Serving communities throughout Greater Boston, the Otolaryngology Division at Newton-Wellesley Hospital provides the highest quality ear, nose, and throat (ENT) care for adults and children.

Our otolaryngologists have specialty training and expertise in diagnosing and treating ear, nose, and throat problems that range from common concerns to complex conditions. Emergency and consultative services are available 24 hours daily. They strive for easy access to appointments, including same-day service for urgent ear, nose, and throat care.

Many of our otolaryngologists subspecialize in areas such as facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, head and neck cancer surgery, hearing loss and advanced ear surgery.

Expertise in Ear, Nose and Throat Conditions

Most of the ENT specialists who practice at Newton-Wellesley Hospital are subspecialty trained and have earned board certification in more than one area in the field of otolaryngology. This level of advanced training is uncommon in a community-based hospital. At NWH, we have had this level of expertise since the late 1990s.

The ENT specialists on staff at Newton-Wellesley Hospital also practice at University hospitals. Our affiliation with Mass. Eye and Ear allows patients immediate access to that facility in the rare event that their situation requires tertiary-level care. This collaboration is unique to NWH and differentiates us from other community-based hospitals in the region.

Advanced Training

Also unique for a community hospital is the fact that our staff includes experts in state-of-the-art ear surgery procedures as well as otolaryngologists who exclusively practice pediatric ENT care and. The entire pediatric ENT division at Mass. Eye and Ear maintains privileges at NWH and are available to our patients 24/7.

Our staff also provides medical students and residents with formal teaching, clinical office rotations, and exposure to surgical procedures. Most staff members hold clinical faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine.
