Genetics
The Mass General Brigham Center for Human Genetics, working in collaboration with the National Birth Defects Center, operates an outpatient clinic and provides inpatient consultations at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. The clinic will be located on the hospital’s sixth floor pediatric wing and will be open every other week. The focus will be on the diagnosis and management of children and adults with known or suspected genetic disorders, congenital anomaly syndromes, and inborn errors of metabolism.

Pediatric Nephrology
The Pediatric Neurology service at Newton-Wellesley Hospital evaluates diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract occurring in infants, children, and adolescents. These conditions include hematuria, proteinuria, urinary tract infections, congenital renal diseases, enuresis and voiding problems, kidney stones, and hypertension.
Newton-Wellesley pediatric patients requiring renal replacement therapy benefit from our close working relationship with the Division of Transplant Surgery and the Dialysis Unit at Massachusetts General, which evaluates and treats chronic renal failure and end-stage renal disease.
Pediatric Neurology
Mass General for Children pediatric neurologists treat children with seizure disorders, developmental delay, chronic headaches, attention and learning disorders, metabolic, and genetic disorders.
These problems are often complex and may involve multiple physical and emotional factors.
Pediatric Orthopedics
If your child has an orthopedic issue, we are here to help. Working closely with the Mass General for Children Orthopedics Service, we provide clinical care to infants, children and adolescents, from birth to college age, for the entire spectrum of musculoskeletal problems.

Pediatric Surgery
Mass General for Children pediatric surgeons provide a wide range of pediatric surgical care at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Our doctors are internationally known for their clinical expertise and research efforts.
Outstanding surgical care for Greater Boston children and teens
- General surgery
- Neurosurgery, procedures that involve the brain, spinal cord, and nerves
- Thoracic surgery, procedures that involve the organs of the chest, such as the heart and lungs
- Urologic surgery, procedures that involve the urinary tract system and the reproductive organs of boys
Our doctors have specialized expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques for children and teens, which generally involve smaller incisions and quicker recovery times for patients. Although we perform most surgeries at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, we will refer children who are critically ill or who have complex needs to Mass General for Children.
Our Child Life service provides guidance and comfort to our pediatric patients. This is a guide that younger patients may benefit from viewing prior to surgery.
